Tags is a bulk product tag management tool that automates the creation and updating of tags across your product catalog. It can generate tags from multiple sources including SKUs, barcodes, variant titles, vendor/brand names, product types, and stock status. You can also add custom tags or remove all existing tags in bulk.
The tool includes an auto-optimization feature that applies your tag settings automatically to new and updated products, ensuring consistent tagging across your entire store. This improves product organization, searchability, and collection management without manual effort.

Getting Started
Products › TagsNavigate to Tags
Go to Products › Tags from the main navigation
Configure Tag Options
Enable desired tag sources: SKUs, barcodes, variant titles, vendor, product type, or add custom tags
Test on Single Product
Click UPDATE A PRODUCT to test tag generation on one item first
Apply to All Products
After verifying results, click UPDATE ALL PRODUCTS to process in bulk
Important Settings
Remove Tags
Toggle to clear all existing tags before adding new ones. Useful for cleaning up inconsistent tagging.
Add Custom Tags
Enter custom tags separated by commas to add to all products along with automated tags
Add Out Of Stock
Automatically tag products with zero inventory for easy filtering and collection management
Update Published/Drafts
Choose whether to apply tags to all products, only published products, or only draft products
Verify Your Implementation
Shopify Admin Verification
Go to Products in Shopify admin and open a recently updated product. Check the Tags field to confirm tags were added correctly.
Store Collection Check
Visit automated tag collections on your store (if configured). Verify that products appear in the correct collections based on their tags.
Store Search Test
Use your store search to find products by their new tags. Confirm that tagged products appear in search results as expected.
